KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- After its dominant performance in the Great Lakes Invitational, the Western Michigan hockey team has jumped up to No. 14 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll on Monday.
WMU jumps five spots in the prestigious poll after beating No. 17 Michigan Tech, 8-1, and Ferris State, 8-2, to claim the program's fourth MacInnes Cup. Senior captain Jason Polin had a hat trick in each game and was named Most Valuable Player. Freshman forward Ryan McAllister, junior defenseman Aidan Fulp and junior goalie Cameron Rowe were all named to the GLI All-Tournament Team.
