KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team held its annual end of the year banquet over the weekend, handing out yearly awards and celebrating the careers of its senior class.
A good crowd was on hand to send off seniors J.T. Osborn, Nolan LaPorte and Lukas Hafner. However, it was freshman Griffen Molino that took home the most hardware. Molino earned four awards, including the Rob Hodge Most Valuable Player award. It's the first time a freshman has earned the MVP award since Frank Slubowski back during the 2011-12 season.
