Hockey Falls at Omaha, 6-3

OMAHA, Neb. – The Western Michigan hockey team fell short at Omaha, losing 6-3 at Baxter Arena on Saturday night but splitting the series on the season with the Mavericks after the 7-6 win on Friday night.

Sheldon Dries and Corey Schueneman each had two points, while Aidan Muir and Matheson Iacopelli each tallied goals.

Omaha jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two first-period goals by Riley Alferd and a power play goal by Frederik Olofsson just 1:10 into the second period.

WMU's comeback started at 7:01 in the second period when Iacopelli netted his 16th goal of the season.
