KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team and head coach Andy Murray have announced the non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
The Broncos will play 10 non-conference games, with six of them being played at Lawson Ice Arena. The non-conference action pushes WMU's total games played at Lawson to 18 for the regular season.
"We are really excited about our overall schedule," said Murray. "Playing in the NCHC, we play against seven of the best teams in college hockey. The last number of years we have played a greater number of away games during our non-conference schedule and we felt that we didn't get enough home games and our fans didn't get to see enough home games.
