KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team and head coach Andy Murray have announced the addition of Kale Bennet to the team for the 2016-17 season.
Bennett, a 6-foot 200-pound left-shot defenseman, joins the Broncos after three seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League. Most recently he spent two seasons with the Nanaimo Clippers where he racked up eight goals and 31 assists in 134 games, including playoffs. He also spent those seasons as an assistant captain. In his three seasons in the BCHL he racked up 15 goals and 49 assists.
"Kale is a coach's son," said Murray.
