KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey program and head coach Pat Ferschweiler have announced the signing of forward Alex Bump. Bump is a fifth-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers, which selected him 133rd overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
The Minnesota native transferred to WMU from Vermont. Bump comes to the Broncos after an impressive high school and juniors career. He spent three seasons with Prior Lake High School (2019-22), where Bump totaled 147 points in just 75 games. He posted 72 goals and 75 assists throughout his career, including 48 goals and 35 assists as the team captain in 2021-22.
