AKRON, Ohio. – The Western Michigan men's soccer team went on the road to Mid-American Conference leaders Akron and battled the Zips to a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon.
Junior defender Jonathan Robinson recorded the game's lone goal while WMU goalkeeper Hunter Morse needed to make seven saves. WMU outshot Akron 18-13 overall but the Zips had an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Akron started the scoring of the day in the 2nd minute when Jason Shokalook connected with Jonas Buechte on a free kick that resulted in a finished header off the far post for the Zips.
