HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Western Michigan golf team wrapped up the opening round of the Low Country Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford College at Moss Creek Golf Club, on Friday.
The Broncos combined to shoot a 327 (+39) and sit tied for 10th in the 19-team field with Presbyterian. WMU is just 10 strokes out of the top four. UNC Asheville leads the tournament after shooting a 311 (+23).
Individually, senior Alissa Fish and freshman Megha Vallabhaneni both shot an 80 (+8) and sit tied for 24th. Only three strokes separate fourth place and 24th place, with five golfers shooting a 77.
