BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – The Western Michigan golf team sits in first place after the opening round on Monday of the Chippewa Invitational at Birmingham Country Club.
The Broncos combined to shoot a 300 (+12), sitting six shots ahead of Grand Valley State, seven of Northwood, eight of Bradley and 13 of Toledo in the field of 13 teams.
Individually, senior Jasmine Chee sits in third place, just two shots off the lead after shooting a 74 (+2). Freshman Alissa Fish is in a three-way tie for fourth along with sophomore Brooke Gibbons after both shooting a 75 (+3).
