OLDSMAR, Fla. -- The Western Michigan golf team holds a two-stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final around of the Butler Don Benbow Spring Invitational at East Lake Woodlands Golf Club.
The Broncos, who won the tournament last season, combined to shoot an opening round of 310 (+22) on Monday. Farleigh Dickerson is in second place in the 15-team field with a 312 (+24) and the host Bulldogs sit in third with a 315 (+27).
Three WMU golfers are tied for seventh place after shooting rounds of 77 (+5). Freshmen Saanvi Venkatesh and Lauren Lupinek, along with junior Jenna Hays are in the eight-way tie.
