CLEVELAND – The Western Michigan golf team landed four student-athletes on the Mid-American Conference's Academic All-MAC team, announced by the conference office on Thursday.
Julia Champion (3.88, criminal justice), Claire Hernandez (3.57, communication), Kaitlyn Watkins (3.87, accountancy) and Anna Wilcoxson (3.54, exercise science) all earned the honors, tied for the second-most in the MAC.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
