LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Western Michigan golf team kicked off its Spring season on Monday at the Mid-American Match Play Challenge, defeating Fort Wayne and Akron to advance to the semifinals against Kent State on Tuesday at Lakewood Ranch Country Club.
The fifth-seeded Broncos started off the day with a 3-2 win over the Mastodons. Megan Watkins, Jasmine Chee and Julia Champion all picked up the wins. Watkins defeated Fort Wayne's Abbie Carlson 1UP. Chee defeated Jenna Kurosky 4&3, while Champion finished off Madison Chesnutt 8&6.
