Braverman drew attention from teams throughout the NFL after being part of one of college football’s best receiving tandems along with Corey Davis. Braverman’s career best 108 receptions, 1,371 yards and 13 touchdowns were good enough to get him pre-draft workouts with teams after he was not invited to the NFL Combine. His stock rose from undrafted free agent to mid-to-late round pick.
The Chicago Bears liked what they saw and grabbed Braverman in the seventh round.
Wide receiver was a position the Bears lacked depth in. Last year’s seventh overall pick Kevin White did not appear in any games after a shin injury.
