Western Michigan football fell short to the Northern Illinois Wednesday night at Waldo Stadium in a 42-28 loss. The Broncos are now 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the Mid-American Conference.
WMU got out front early with a touchdown in the first quarter as Jaden Nixon ran for a 66-yard score, but the team began to fall apart on defense in the second quarter.
Telly Johnson, Jr. tied it up for the Huskies early in the second with a six-yard run. The Huskies would score again after Tristen Tewes completed a seven-yard TD pass, giving NIU the lead by a touchdown.
