KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan has announced a football home and home scheduling agreement with Sun Belt school Georgia State beginning in 2018. The Broncos will play in Atlanta on Sept. 22, 2018 before hosting the Panthers on Sept. 14, 2019.
The game against Georgia State will be the first meeting in the two programs’ history. The Panthers began their football program in 2010. Georgia State made its first bowl game last season, playing San Jose State in the AutoNation Cure Bowl. Head coach Trent Miles was named the Sun Belt Coach of the Year after coaching quarterback Nick Arbuckle to Sun Belt Conference Student-Athlete of the Year as well as the Freshman of the Year, wide receiver Penny Hart.
