Flurry of goals moves men's soccer to the second round of the NCAA Tournament

Western Michigan men’s soccer took down Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Broncos won the game by a score of 5-1.

WMU has now made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row. That streak is a program record.

Greyson Mercer led the way for the Broncos goal scorers as the graduate student knocked in two. The other players to score were Owen Smith, Duarte Chapelas and Christian Shannon. It was Chapelas’ first goal of the season.

Seven Broncos picked up assists in the game.
