CLEVELAND – For the second time in four weeks the Mid-American Conference announced that Western Michigan men's basketball sophomore guard Michael Flowers has been named MAC West Player of the Week.
On Sunday against UC Riverside, Flowers flirted with a triple-double, scoring a game-high 24 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The Southfield, Mich., native was 5-of-12 from the field and a staggering 12-of-13 from the free-throw line and made his final seven free-throws.
Flowers' 12 made free-throws was a career-high while attempting a career-high 13. The sophomore guard has scored in double figures in seven straight contests and leads WMU with 16.
