To begin, coach Fleck explained the game plan put in place to win last weekend.
“We had to do three things. We had to win the time of possession, we had to win the turnover battle and we had to play harder for longer. And we were able to do all of those things,” Fleck said.
The Broncos came out of last week’s battle with a last minute win over Northwestern, as well as Mid American Conference-West Defensive Player of the Week honors for linebacker Robert Spillane.
“That game came down to a minute and eleven seconds… thank goodness Robert Spillane was on our team,” Fleck said.
