KALAMAZOO, MI – Simply put, Western Michigan football needed this.
Coming off a disappointing loss to Central Michigan that saw the Broncos lose a 14-point lead in the final 10 minutes, the team needed to make a statement against an overmatched Kent State team in the final home game of 2017.
After and up-and-down first quarter, the Broncos’ defense and their powerful ground game set the tone for the rest of the contest.
The win secured bowl eligibility, and, coupled with Toledo’s first conference loss Wednesday to Ohio, it increased the Broncos’ chances for a return to the Mid-American Conference title game.
