KALAMAZOO, MI — Western Michigan football had two players drafted this past year for the first time since 2012.
Neither player made it through Saturday's cuts as NFL teams had to trim their rosters to 53 players.
The Chicago Bears waived wide receiver Daniel Braverman early in the day. The Minnesota Vikings also cut offensive lineman Willie Beavers, their fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft.
As a late-round pick, Braverman was always a candidate to get waived. Beavers' release comes as a bit of surprise considering where the Vikings drafted him.
