KENT, Ohio – The Western Michigan track and field team wrapped up the opening day of competition at the Doug Raymond Invitational at Kent State University on Friday evening.
The top individual finish of the day came by fifth-year senior Taylor Eaton in the weight throw. Eaton tossed a distance of 55' 9" (17.01m) to finish in fourth place. WMU also placed two athletes in the top right of the 5,000-meter run. Senior Kailyn Mince took fifth overall with a time of 18:17.88, a new career-best. Soper finished in eighth place with a time of 18:31.
