Western Michigan football coach Tim Lester announced on Tuesday that two-way playerD’WayneEskridge will miss the remainder of the 2019-20 season due to a broken collarbone.Lester also said that he will have surgery to repair the collarbone on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
Eskridge suffered the injury last Saturday at Syracuse after hauling in a 43-yard pass from quarterback Jon Wassink in the first quarter. Eskridge stretched out to make a nice catch but hit the turf hard and left the game after the play.
That was just his third catch of the season as Eskridge has put in most of his work at defensive back after making the switch in the offseason from a full-time wide receiver.
