Western Michigan basketball started their 2018-19 campaign at home defeating Detroit Mercy 89-76.
Senior center Seth Dugan had a career night, and a near record setting performance on the boards, coming down with 22 rebounds to go along with 32 points and 6 assists.
Dugan's rebounding total tied for the fifth most in a game in WMU basketball history, and was the first Bronco to post 20 boards in a game since Ben Handlogten did it back in 1994.
Dugan was essential to the Broncos splitting Detroit Mercy's zone defense as they missed an array of open shots Tuesday night.
