JACKSONVILLE, Fla., -- Western Michigan track and field's Erin Dowd and Sarah Anderson both advanced to Friday's quarterfinals of the NCAA East Preliminary Championships after a day of competition at the University of North Florida on Thursday.
Dowd finished in second place her heat of the 400-meter hurdles to automatically qualify for Friday's quarterfinals at 7 p.m. The Brighton, Mich., native ran a time of 58.97 seconds, ranking 20th overall on the day.
Anderson also finished second in her heat to automatically qualify for Friday's quarterfinals at 6:30 p.m. The redshirt junior ran a time of 2:06.
