KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan fell behind early and was short of a comeback Tuesday, dropping a 6-3 decision to visiting Detroit in non-conference play. WMU returns home tomorrow to host rival Central Michigan in a Mid-American Conference contest at 2 p.m.
The Titans put its first three runners on base safely in the third and scored all three to take a 3-0 lead. Detroit added two more runs off of five hits and an error in the fifth to open a 5-0 advantage. The Broncos avoided what could have been a bigger inning for the Titans.
