Detroit Lions draft based on need, not availability

Ohio State University - 16th overall

After watching offensive tackles Ronnie Stanley and Jack Conklin leave the board at picks six and eight respectively, and seeing Laremy Tunsil playing smoke tricks (literally) with the Miami Dolphins at 13, taking the 6-foot-7, 315-pound monstrosity in Decker was a safe choice by the Detroit Lions. Decker adds the beef to the developing offensive line but has taken a barrage of criticism for his amateur pass blocking and inability to take on the blind side. The Lions were dead last in rushing last season, totaling 1,335 yards on 354 attempts, so his inept pass blocking will be overlooked by his strong run blocking ability, which can be proven by his 11th overall rushing offense in the National Collegiate Athletic Association with the Buckeyes in the 2015-16 season.
