KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan cross country team heads into the 2022 season ranked 14th in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Great Lakes Region Preseason rankings.
WMU finished the 2021 season unranked, but jumps ahead of No. 15 Milwaukee to start the season. This is the first time that Western Michigan has been in the preseason regional rankings since 2016, when it was slotted 11th.
The Broncos make the quick trip to Valparaiso to open the season on Friday for the Winrow Open at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso, Ind.
