KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's cross country team was picked to finish sixth in the 2016 Mid-American Conference (MAC) preseason coaches' poll, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Eastern Michigan was picked to repeat as champions, followed by Bowling Green, Toledo, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and WMU, who finished fourth at the 2015 MAC Championships at Akron. Rounding out the rest of the poll is Buffalo, Miami, Ohio, Akron, Kent State and Ball State.
Junior Maria McDaniel finished third at last season's championships to earn First Team All-MAC honors for the second straight season.
