KENT, Ohio – The Western Michigan cross country team finished eighth at the 2016 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships at the Kent State University Golf Course Saturday morning. Last season, the Broncos finished in fourth place, its highest finish at the race since 2004.

No. 14 Eastern Michigan won the race for the second consecutive season with a team score of 27. Junior Jordann McDermitt was the individual winner with a time of 20:34.1. Northern Illinois (78), Bowling Green (116), Central Michigan (126) and Toledo rounded out the top-five teams.
