KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches in partnership with the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) announced on Wednesday the men's finalists for the 2023 MAC Hermann Trophy, as the NCAA Division I National Player of the Year. Today, Western Michigan men's soccer forward Charlie Sharp was named one of three finalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy.
Today, Sharp became the first MAC Hermann Trophy finalist in WMU men's soccer program history after his record breaking year for the Brown and Gold. During the 2023 campaign, Sharp scored 19 goals, had eight assists and posted seven game winning goals to lead the Broncos to a 17-2-3 record and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to national runner-up Notre Dame on penalty kicks.
