CLEVELAND – Western Michigan junior guard Chansey Willis Jr. has been named MAC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Willis is the first WMU player to earn this honor so far during the 2024-25 season.
Willis racked up 25.5 points on 51.4 percent shooting and added 7.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game to help Western Michigan to a pair of wins last week.
The junior scored nine of the first 11 points for WMU as it got out to an early lead on Tuesday against Ohio, and kept it going as he netted a career-high 34 points and equaled his career-best with eight assists in the victory.
