KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan hockey freshman defenseman Cédric Fiedler has been named to Switzerland's 34-man camp ahead of the 2021 World Junior Championships.
Fiedler will be available to the Broncos for the first two games of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Pod before departing to join his teammates in Switzerland. The Zug, Switzerland native has a chance to compete for a roster spot for the tournament, which runs from Dec. 25-Jan. 5 in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.
Fiedler played two seasons in the United States Hockey League with the Fargo Force prior to joining the Broncos this season.
