Straight out of high school, Northwood University recruited Thompson, where he shined in his 20 games. Thompson recorded 89 receptions for 1,210 yards, and 10 touchdowns in his time in Midland, Michigan.
After establishing himself as a player, both he and Western Michigan were interested in taking his game to the next level.
“I felt like I could take my talents to a higher division, so I came to Western and they took me in like I was family to them,” Thompson said.
Thompson made the transition from Division II to Division I rather well.
“I think it built it more than anything.
