EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team completed the first full day of competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Championship at Michigan State University on Friday.
For a couple of Broncos the action started on Thursday. Freshman Anton Arzhankin earned a bye in the first round of qualifying tournament. He then defeated Clement Mainguy Youngstown State 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the third round. In Friday's third round he defeated Marquette's Stefan Drogovic 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
Also in action on Thursday was sophomore Joaquin Caballer. He opened the first round with a win over Sven Moser 6-3, 6-2 and then defeated Michigan State's Josh Mukherjee 6-0, 6-1 to advance to the third round.
