YORKTOWN, Ind. – Western Michigan sophomore Bella Brooks tied the third-lowest single round in program history after opening the Brittany Kelly Classic, hosted by Ball State, at The Players Club on Monday.
Brooks shot a 68 (-4) to start off and led after the first round. After her second round in the afternoon, she sits tied for third place at 143 (-1) and is just three strokes off leader Jasmine Driscoll from BSU. Brooks had seven birdies in the two rounds and 23 pars.
As a team, the Broncos are in third place after opening with a 301 and then shooting their first sub-300 team round of the season, a 298, for a 36-hole total of 599 (+23).
