KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In its lone exhibition match, Western Michigan volleyball defeated in-state competitor Grand Valley State in three sets (25-15, 25-19, 25-15) on Friday inside University Arena.
As a team the Broncos recorded a stellar .359 attack percentage with junior Rachel Bontrager leading the way with 11 kills to go along with 10 digs. The Brown & Gold also posted six blocks and had three service aces, two of which coming from sophomore Meredith Phillips.
The newcomers provided a spark for the WMU offense against the Lakers on Friday, recording a total of 15 kills, 37 assists and 24 digs.
