DEKALB, Ill.- Western Michigan outscored Northern Illinois by 10 in the second half, but it wasn't enough to erase a 19-point halftime deficit, falling at Northern Illinois Saturday, 76-67.
The Broncos and Huskies split this year's series, with each team winning on its home floor. Western Michigan knocked off Northern Illinois in Kalamazoo back on Jan. 16, 83-69.
Unlike the first meeting this season, Saturday's game between WMU and NIU got off to a lackluster start. With nine and a half minutes played the two sides had combined for 18 points and the score was tied at 9-9.
