It was everything you’d expect out of a rivalry game, especially one as intense as what the Broncos and Chipewas have. There was a lot of back and forth action early in the first half that had the home crowd on their feet at University Arena, cheering their lungs out. There were also moments when CMU seemed to drain the life out of the very building itself.
Both teams pushed the offense early and played up-tempo, driving into the paint for lay-ups but found them contested by a stifling defense.
