Western Michigan football earned bowl eligibility for the fifth consecutive season after finding their sixth win of the season against Central Michigan, 35-10.
The battle for the Cannon featured rain for the second consecutive season. This time, lightning caused a half-an-hour delay with around eight minutes left in the first. The delay mirrored the situation in East Lansing during the beginning of the Michigan-Michigan State game on Saturday.
Many fans did not return when play resumed which made for a near empty Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
Western Michigan (6-2) has now won six games in a row and is 4-0 in Mid-American Conference play.
