The IIHF Championships will be held in both Paris, France and Cologne, Germany. There are two groups of eight teams. There, all teams play round-robin style in 28 games, based on points from round-robin play the top four teams from both groups will qualify for tournament play.
Team Germany is in Group, A which means Tiffels will get to play in front of his hometown. On the international circuit Tiffels has seen great success. In the 2013-14 season, he played for team Germany in the U20 World Juniors and netted himself five points in seven games. The following season he would be picked by the team again and in six games collected four points.
