KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team recorded its sixth shutout of the season after a 0-0 draw against Akron on Sunday afternoon. Due to field conditions at the WMU Soccer Complex, the game was played at Kalamazoo College's Mackenzie Field.
The Broncos (9-6-1, 3-4-1) dominated possession and outshot the Zips 27-8, including 10-2 in shots on goal. When called upon, the WMU defense and midfield were able to snuff out any of Akron's attempt to counter-attack. Senior Makenzie Larson started on the game and was subbed out at half time for Stephanie Heber.
