KENT, Ohio – Three Broncos scored in double figures Saturday afternoon as the Western Michigan women's basketball team defeated Kent State 66-61 to pick up its first Mid-American Conference road victory and improve to 9-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

"I couldn't be happier, I loved our fight and our determination today," commented WMU head coach Shane Clipfell. "The team did exactly what we wanted them to do and they battled through some tough spots especially in the third quarter. I think the biggest key tonight was that when we were struggling offensively, we performed exceptionally well on defense.
