Broncos Grab Piece of MAC West Title, Down CMU 88-80

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Thomas Wilder scored 27 points, Tucker Haymond added 24 and Western Michigan beat Central Michigan 88-80 on Friday night for its eighth straight win.

After starting Mid-American Conference play with a 2-6 record, the Broncos (15-15, 11-7 MAC) closed out the schedule with wins in nine of their last 10, rallying back to tie Ball State for first place in the MAC West. It was the eighth division crown in 14 seasons under WMU head coach Steve Hawkins.

WMU withstood 13 three-pointers from the Chippewas including five -straight in the first half from CMU's Braylon Rayson.
