ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Western Michigan fell on the road at National Collegiate Hockey Conference leaders No. 5/4 St. Cloud State, 8-2 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey center on Friday night.
The Huskies jumped on the Broncos, scoring five goals in the first two periods to take a 5-0 lead into the third period before Michael Rebry struck at 1:16 for his fourth goal of the season. Rebry took a pass from Corey Schueneman down the ice, spun and fired it past SCSU goalie Charlie Lundgren to cut the lead to 5-1.
Goals by Patrick Newell and Jimmy Schuldt pushed the lead back to 7-1 before Sheldon Dries netted his 10th of the season.
