KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team lost another close game to the second-ranked North Dakota Fighting Hawks on Saturday, losing 2-1 at Lawson Ice Arena.
Lukas Hafner had a stellar night in net, stopping 35 shots but the Broncos only tallied once on the night with Cam Johnson making 28 saves to earn his 13th win of the season. Michael Rebry netted the lone goal for WMU (7-16-3, 4-11-1-1 NCHC).
After a scoreless first period Shane Gersich tallied first for the Fighting Hawks at 9:04 in the second period.
