BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Western Michigan women's soccer season has come to an end after the sixth-seeded Broncos fell, 2-0, at third-seeded Bowling Green in the Mid-American Conference Quarterfinals on Sunday.
WMU, who qualified in dramatic fashion with a last-minute win over Toledo on Thursday, was shutout by a MAC opponent for just the third time this season.
Western Michigan carried possession in the first half, outshooting Bowling Green 7-4, but it was the Falcons that struck first in the 42nd minute. Alexis Miller crossed the ball into the box from the left side and Alaina Uncapher found space and headed it into the net to give BGSU the lead.
