DENVER --Sheldon Dries netted two goals on the night but the Western Michigan hockey team fell just short at Denver, 5-3, on Friday night at Magness Arena.
Molino also added a goal but Tanner Jaillet made 30 saves on the night, while WMU's Lukas Hafner made 28 in the loss.
The Pioneers took an early 1-0 lead on Emil Romig's third goal of the season just 2:00 into the first period. Colin Staub threw the puck towards the net and the puck got deflected right to Romig at the top of the crease for the tap-in.
