This would be a tough road test for the Broncos, as they face off with the reigning MAC Champions. Akron started off the scoring in the first half when Stuart Holthusen scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute. At the end of the first half the Zips lead the Broncos 1-0. Holthusen was not content with just his one goal of the game. He added to his goal tally when struck the back of the net again in the 68th minute to give the Zips a 2-0 lead. The final goal of the game came from Ezana Kahsay when he beat the keeper in the 86th minute.
