KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team fell late to No. 18 Kansas, 2-0, at the WMU Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The Bronco (2-4-0) defense had held strong and goalkeeper Maggie Rogers finished with a career-high 13 saves but the Jayhawks (7-1-0) finally broke through at 79:43 in the second half when Chais Wright kicked in a rebound to take a 1-0 lead.
Just 46 seconds later Samantha Barnett scored on a shot from distance to push the lead to 2-0.
After being held without a shot in the first half, Western Michigan had its moments of pressure in the second, getting off five overall shots.
