DULUTH, Minn. – After heading into the third period tied up at 3-3, the Western Michigan hockey team fell at No. 9 Minnesota-Duluth, 6-3, on the road at AMSOIL Arena on Friday night.
Kobe Roth netted the game-winning goal 4:54 into the third period. Freshman goalie Brandon Bussi attempted to clear the puck from danger but it bounced off of Roth and he had an open net to put the puck in, giving UMD a 4-3 lead. Swaney scored his first of two goals in the final 20 minutes at 7:21 on a short-handed goal.
